Purpose of the Service
ScanBodAI is designed to assist dental laboratory technicians and prosthodontists in identifying scan body components used in CAD/CAM digital workflows. The system uses geometric fingerprinting and machine learning to suggest probable matches against a reference database of manufacturer-provided scan body models.
Not a Medical Device
ScanBodAI is a laboratory workflow tool, not a medical device. It is not cleared or approved by any regulatory authority (FDA, CE, TGA, etc.) for diagnostic or clinical use. All clinical treatment decisions must be made by qualified healthcare professionals using appropriate clinical judgment and manufacturer-verified documentation.
Accuracy and Confidence
Match confidence scores indicate the geometric similarity between a submitted file and reference models. A "Confirmed" or "Likely" match does not guarantee that the identified component is the correct implant system for a specific patient. Laboratory technicians are responsible for independently verifying component compatibility with implant manufacturers' documentation before fabricating any restoration.
Database Completeness
The ScanBodAI reference database is continuously updated but may not include all scan body models from all manufacturers. Absence from the database does not indicate that a component is counterfeit or non-standard. New, regional, or proprietary scan body designs may not yet be represented.
Neutral Identification Only
ScanBodAI is a neutral, automated identification tool. It compares the geometry of a submitted file against a reference database and reports the closest-matching reference models as probable, best-fit suggestions ranked by geometric similarity. It does not certify, authenticate, or guarantee that any physical component is original, "genuine," or sourced from a particular manufacturer, and it does not act on behalf of any manufacturer.
Compatible Components
Compatibility information provided by ScanBodAI is based on geometric and connection-type matching logic and is offered as a best-fit suggestion only. It is not a substitute for consultation with implant manufacturers regarding component compatibility. Laboratory technicians must independently verify any component against the manufacturer's own documentation, and only manufacturer-authorised components should be used in clinical restorations.
Trademarks and Nominative Use
All trademarks, brand names, and product names referenced by ScanBodAI are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for nominative, descriptive purposes — to identify the implant system a geometry most closely resembles. Their use does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or official association between ScanBodAI and any manufacturer. References to a brand being "compatible" describe geometric and connection-type similarity only.
Intellectual Property
Scan body geometries in the ScanBodAI reference database have been collected from publicly available manufacturer resources and CAD library distributions. ScanBodAI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially associated with any implant manufacturer unless explicitly stated in writing.
Limitation of Liability
ScanBodAI and its operators accept no liability for decisions made based on identification results. Users assume full responsibility for verifying component identifications and for all clinical and laboratory decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScanBodAI disclaims all warranties, express or implied, relating to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of identification results.
